Artists of the Year

Yeah est une des pièces significatives du groupe montréalais Artists of the Year. Sur la scène émergeante ce groupe déplace beaucoup d'air dans un style électro-rétro-funky qu'il décrivent comme un mélange de Bootsys Collins et de Giorgio Moroder tournant ensemble dans le tambour rotatif d'un séchoir à linge.
Le groupe est composé de 4 musiciens ayant le même age (nés en 1978) : Camille, Nathael, David et Louis. Ce groupe est né en 2002 bien que les musiciens ont joué ensemble depuis longtemps. Leurs influences sont très riches et variées puisqu'elles vont des Red Hot Chili Peppers à Led Zeppelin, de Pole, Pan Sonic aux groupes funk Ohio Players, Meters et Cymande. Invités au Montreal Jazz Fest en 2005, 2007 puis 2008, ils ont aussi impressionnés les festivaliers des NXNE 2006, du Off Festival 2006 et du Festival d'Été de Québec en 2007.

Yeah is one of the significant music piece from the Montreal group Artists of the Year. From the Emerging Music, scene this group moves a lot of air in an electro-funky retro-style. They describe it as a mixture of Bootsy Collins and Giorgio Moroder mixed together in the rotating drum of a linen dryer.

The group is composed of 4 musicians with the same age (born in 1978): Camille, Nathael, David and Louis. As a musical group they were born in 2002 although the musicians have played together for a long time. Their influences are very rich and varied as they range from Red Hot Chili Peppers to Led Zeppelin, the Pole, Pan Sonic and funk groups like Ohio Players, Meters and Cymande. Guests at the Montreal Jazz Fest in 2005, 2007 and 2008, they also impressed the assistance at the NXNE festival of 2006, the Off Festival 2006 and the Summer Festival of Quebec in 2007.
